Raspberries

The Raspberry belongs to the family Rosacea, genus Rubus and subgenus Idaeobatus.
 
This fruit has a rounded conical shape and colors vary depending on the species. The range of color varies from yellow to black, including orange, pink, light or bright red and purple. 
 
In Portugal the most cultivated are the red ones, bittersweet flavor, pulp with small seeds and grainy texture.
 
It has diuretic and laxative properties and can be consumed fresh or in jellies and jams.
