Mango

The mango is an oval shaped fruit with  unedible skin ranging in color from pale yellow to deep red. The pulp is sticky and its color varies from yellow to orange. The taste of ripe mango is sweet, but it is quite acid  when it is green. The mango is juicy and fibrous, although improved varieties are less fibrous.

The quality of this fruit can be confirmed by the smell which is the most reliable and telling sign of ripeness. Desired ripeness can also be confirmed by touching this fruit.

The Mango can be consumed alone or in fruit salads and is ideal for the making of ice cream, pies and jams and can also be used as a condiment for meat and fish.
